PlateOS terms of use

Last updated: 5 November 2026 · Beta (0.10.3)

These are the terms for using the PlateOS app. They are short and in plain English. By using PlateOS you agree to them. PlateOS is made by Plinthwork Studio Ltd (company number 17562742), 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA ("we", "us").

Using PlateOS

This is a beta

PlateOS is a test (beta) version. It will change, may contain mistakes, and may stop working or be withdrawn at any time. We will try to give notice if we withdraw it. Keep your own copy of anything you care about: you can export your data from inside the app.

During the beta, PlateOS is provided for testing, free of charge and "as is" to the extent the law allows. You use it at your own risk and judgement, subject to the section on our liability below.

Health, safety and your responsibility

PlateOS is a guide, not medical advice or coaching. PlateOS provides general information, suggestions and training guides, including exercise guides, recovery estimates, workout plans and suggested weights and repetitions. It is built from rules and the information you give it. It is not medical advice, physiotherapy, personal training or a substitute for a qualified professional, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition or injury.

Check before you train. Exercise carries a risk of injury. Before using PlateOS, or starting or changing any exercise programme, talk to a doctor or other suitably qualified professional, especially if you are pregnant, have or have had an injury, pain or a medical condition, or have been told to limit exercise. Do not use PlateOS's suggestions if a professional has advised you otherwise.

You are responsible for how you train. You decide whether and how to follow any suggestion. Use weights and intensity that suit you, start lighter than you think you need, use suitable equipment and a spotter where appropriate, keep to safe technique, and stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath or anything that feels wrong, then seek medical advice. Guides, animations and figures show one general way to perform an exercise and cannot take account of your body, injuries, equipment or environment.

Recovery and suggestions are estimates. Recovery indicators, readiness, plans, suggested weights and any other figures are estimates based on what you have logged. They may be wrong. They are not a guarantee that a muscle is ready or that an exercise is safe for you.

Emergencies. PlateOS is not an emergency service. If you think you are injured or unwell, stop and get medical help. In an emergency, call 999.

Your data

Your training belongs to you. How we handle it is explained in the privacy policy.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:

Ending your use

You can stop using PlateOS and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we withdraw the beta.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date above will change, and if the change matters we will tell you in the app. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you can use your local courts.
